For over 20 years, Patricia Holman, Guild Certified Feldenkrais®and
Anat Baniel Method for Children™ practitioner,has been
transforming individual’s lives from birth to advanced age.
Physiologist, musician, educator, & fitness explorer, Patricia skillfully addresses a wide range of needs, from those of elite athletes & musicians, to adults with chronic pain and other disabilities to the most profound brain disorders that affect infants & children at birth.
A lifelong Wisconsin Resident, Patricia is focused on helping children & adults of all ages and abilities live a fuller, more independent and vital quality of life.She holds a BS degree in Exercise Physiology from the Department of Kinesiology at UW Madison where she was honored with multi-year scholarships. She also actively competed as a Junior Varsity member of the University’s Fencing Team.She took 2 years off from liberal arts studies to pursue classical & jazz voice training at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
After completing college she embarked on a direction in the basic science field where she assisted primary investigators in both in the Pharmacology department and Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery departments at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In her capacity as Research assistant while at MCW, she co-authored several papers with lead investigators on the function of the neonatal heart. Substantial multi-year grants were awarded to the laboratories she contributed her efforts towards.
While at the Medical College she began her studies of the Feldenkrais Method. Patricia completed her Feldenkrais basic training at the Movement Studies Institute with Dr. Frank Wildman, Ph.D., in San Rafael California. In subsequent years, she has completed Master Classes with Ruthy Alon, (2002-2005, Baccheretto, Italy), Mia Segal, (2002-2006, Chicago, New York, Berkeley), and Anat Baniel (2009-2010, San Rafael) where she specializes with the childhood special needs population applying the methodology of the Anat Baniel Method for Children.
In addition to a wide range of therapeutic organizations she has lectured to and presented workshops for, Patricia is an active participant in the North American Feldenkrais Guild working successfully to legally recognize her profession as a stand-alone discipline. Most recently she has served as assistant editor of her Guild’s professional Journal, The Feldenkrais Journal.Patricia considers her practice a general practice in that she works as skillfully with the youngest newborns to the most advanced age seniors.No matter the age, the principles of the Feldenkrais Method remain.
