Kathy is a licensed professional counselor, EMDR therapist and a registered art therapist. She completed her masters in art therapy at Mount Mary College in 2006 and her PhD in psychology from Midwest University in 2010. In addition to professional counseling Kathy has training in several specialized therapy processes:
- EMDR, a process that assists with alleviating the distress of trauma.
- Narrative Attachment Therapy used to improve reactive attachment disorder. This process uses a narrative process that incorporates interaction with the child and parents for healing attachment disorder.
- Art Therapy allows the client to tap into the creative aspects within and offer opportunities to view events from a different perspective, express events they are having difficulty finding words for, and developing a creative outlet.
Kathy believes in the integration of healing the mind, body, emotions and spirit to achieve wholeness. Her therapy work centers on children, adolescents and adults, assisting them in managing change in their lives in relation to many events. She focuses on the strength each individual brings with them to assist them in achieving the goals they set. Kathy offers a highly personalized approach tailored to each clients’ individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
