Norm Schwartz, MD, Office: 262 240-0133
Norm Schwartz, MD, is an integrative medicine specialist with over thirty years experience and an extensive background in treating complex chronic health problems. Formerly medical director of Integrative Medicine for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he is now in private practice. He uses a first line, proactive, low risk, high gain approach to treat a wide range of chronic medical problems including: fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, hormonal imbalances, stomach and colon disorders, chemical sensitivity, autoimmune disease, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, diabetes and cancer. He has a special interest in helping individuals and families who are dealing with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders using biomedical treatments developed by the Autism Research Institute. As a Defeat Autism Now practitioner he approaches autism as a medical disorder that can be treated and often sees positive change and significant improvement.
Dr. Schwartz has a compassionate, progressive approach using functional and metabolic testing to accurately assess individual causes of chronic illness. He combines behavioral and educational interventions along with nutrients, natural remedies, and pharmacological medications if needed, to support restoration of healthy physiology. He also assesses toxic burden and environmental exposures and sensitivities to create targeted detoxification protocols.
"My goal is to work with patients as a partner to invoke their innate human healing response. I use a multidisciplinary, systems approach, combining the art and science of medicine. I prescribe natural therapies including: lifestyle changes, mind-body interventions, detoxification, nutritional and herbal remedies, hormonal and environmental assessments to promote healing."
After his medical degree and residency he pursued post graduate training and education with the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, Santa Fe Institute for Complex Studies, Functional Medicine Institute, International College of Integrative Medicine, American Academy for the Advancement of Medicine, and he is a founding member of the American Society of Integrative Medical Practice and Fellow, Health Studies Collegium.
